Hey, I’m Lisa Almond

Hello. Hi. Welcome .

I’m an Illawarra based communications specialist and professional writer who loves to share my words across Australia.

If you’re here, you might be looking for a communications professional, or maybe a copywriter, or perhaps you were chasing a freelance journalist.

Unless, of course, you were looking for almond milk. That pesky SEO strikes again.

My name is memorable; my words even more so.

Don’t be deceived by my food-based surname.

It’s my words that are the delicacy around here.

I am a:

➡ Communications and Media|PR consultant

➡ Content writer

➡ Copywriter

➡ Journalist

I am basically a one-stop-shop for all things communications.

Why you need a copywriter or content writer for your business.

I think of it like this - could I do the electrical work in my house?

Am I capable of doing it - yes, probably.

Will it be as good as a professional or will I potentially electrocute myself and die?

I know, dramatic right.

Thankfully being a copywriter and content writer is generally not a life threatening profession.

I do write health content if life and death is your thing though.

Can you write your own business communications and copy - sure.

Will it be as good as a professional - no.

Isn’t everyone a copywriter?

The internet made us think that everyone suddenly became a skilled linguist (not true) and that creating quality copy was as simple as chucking together a website scattered with some SEO keywords on a user-friendly CMS (also, not true).

Writing copy and content that cultivates a true connection with your clients requires time and research.

Sure, we can bang up a few words pretty quickly to fill that gap on your website or hit your monthly email marketing stats, but will they really talk to your client?

Will that copywriting show customers how your company will meet their needs?

Will that content make them click?

Will those words hit them in the feels?

Unlikely.

Yes, it’s true, lots of people do write copy.

Not everyone writes GOOD copy.

You might think the amount of words we all see and hear each day decreases our ability to know good words when we see them.

WRONG

We remember quality copywriting.

We see SO many words, much of it mundane and boring, when we read quality copy we remember it.

We connect with it.

We want more. We crave more.

We’re all “Gimme gimme gimme. I want the good stuff.”

Humans thrive off that dopamine rush and love the feel-good warm-hug kind of feeling that quality copywriting and content gives us.

Successful copy makes a connection.

Copywriting: The art of choosing words that work.

Do you want copywriting that will make your customers remember you like they remember Nanna’s home made muffins?

Let’s get cooking.

I mean, writing!

Quality, creative copy that builds relationships.

I make copywriting F.U.N

I do, literally, make it fun, but I use the word FUN to remind you about how I run things.

  • Research first. Writing second. I won’t put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) until I’m confident I’ve done the research required to turn my words into engaging copy that will captivate your audience and make your business memorable.

  • My proposal will have a detailed timeline of when I expect things from you and when I will be provided my documents to you. Transparency is key. Open and honest always.

  • Do I really need to explain this one?

Need media services?

🔊 Media training 📄 Media or Press Releases 💻 Media strategy 🎤 Interview skills

If writing is my jam then media skills are my scones and cream.

Do you want to brush up on your media training or do you quick media release knocked up?

I offer on-demand media services for those times you need last minute media advice (because we all know media coverage can happen when you least expect it and at all hours of the day.)

I’ve worked with government agencies like NSW Police Force and NSW SES to give media advice and strategies through some of the biggest emergencies we’ve seen in recent years.

I know words and I know news

My media training is offered for individuals or work places and teaches the ins and out of modern day media and I’ll show you what (not) to say when acting as a spokesperson for your company.
